Hi.

Welcome to She’s Full of Lit!

Here, we chat about our favorite (and sometimes least favorite) books, share recommendations on everything from what wine pairs best with that work of fiction to facemasks that make your non-fiction read even better, and live our best basic bookworm lives.

As we start on this blog adventure, we thought that it would be great for you to get to know our reviewers one-on-one! We feel like we are all blog readers because we are nosy and like a peek into other people’s lives, so in order to sate that curiosity, a brief Q&A!

Name: Moira

Location: Brooklyn

How did you become such a reader? I have always carried around books like comfort objects, and I get anxious if I have to wait anywhere without a book. To my parents' credit, we went to the library quite frequently, so there were always books on hand.

Favorite book as a grown up? favorite book as a kid? I'm more of an author person than wed to specific books. Tana French's "In the Woods," most Meg Wolitzer, Jean Hanff Korelitz, Maria Semple, Chris Bohjalian all make my ranks. As a child, Judy Blume, Megan McCafferty, David Levithan, and ME Kerr were all high on my list.

What’s your favorite place to read? The bathtub, and it's heartbreaking that my current tub is uncomfortable to read in.

What’s the “weirdest” place you read regularly? I don't know about weird, but I use books to distance myself from people on the subway, because I am overly approachable-looking. I don't know what it is about me, but people assume I am kind and helpful.

What book do you want to see made into a movie? What’s your dream cast for it? I was so sad when Meg Wolitzer's "The Interestings" wasn't optioned by Amazon. Any of her books. I can't cast it because I feel old and I don't know who actors are anymore. Beanie Feldstein should probably be in it, though.

What character in fiction do you most relate to? Terrifyingly enough, Bernadette from "Where'd You Go, Bernadette?"

What book still haunts you because you didn’t finish it? I try to relinquish guilt about this, because I read for pleasure. Sometimes I do this weird thing where I like an author so much, I avoid their new book and get nervous to read it. I can't quite figure out why.

What won’t you read? If the cover flap so much as alludes to an apocalypse, no. Print too big or too small? No. Elves, fairies, the word "midwinter"? No. Space? I prefer to pretend outer space doesn't exist, the Earth is scary enough.
