I might make Shannon join me at the Hard Seltzer Festival. It’s a millennial requirement.
What if you were the smelly coworker?
On the lie of pro-choice violence.
Overthrowing the Tampax empire.
The tragic disappearance of an indigenous girl.
We stan Macauley Culkin.

We are big proponents of public libraries around here, and I loved this look at things I definitely didn’t know about the Library of Congress. I am so tempted to get a Library of Congress Reader Registration Card, just so that I can hang out in the main reading rooms.
I know I’ve mentioned it, but I just started a new job this week. I am so, so excited about it, but i’m also moving from a mostly flexible consultant lifestyle to something much more structured. I think a monthly admin day would be great — can that be a thing soon?
I have definitely mentioned that I am a public health nerd (I own it), and so reading about the spread of coronavirus has been both terrifying and fascinating. I have long said I never want to go on a cruise, and that has only been magnified 100x over by seeing those quarantined off the cost of Japan. This interview with a cruise ship doctor was eye-opening.
Honestly, I almost just texted this one to Shannon, but I felt like if it fit in the Venn diagram of our interests, y’all might enjoy it, too: “The Chaos at Conde Nast.”
I agree with the number 1 choice. I was also not at all surprised by it.
Should I get Veja sneakers? Or should I stick with my beloved Supergas?

An oldie but a goodie that’s worth revisiting: if literature’s complicated men were on Tinder.
Another instant classic from McSweeny’s: Babysitter’s Club Characters Ranked in Order of How Likely They are to Start a True Crime Podcast That Preys on White Women’s Fears and Props up the Prison Industrial Complex. - the podcast names are PERFECTION (Spier for Fears, Dawn of the Dead), but where are Claudia and Jessi??? Did they only do the white babysitters based on the title?
Loved this look at people who are named after fictional characters and whether or not they feel pressure to live up to their namesakes. (Imagine being named Jolene and having people sing at you all the time?! No thnx.) (Fun fact: my cousin wrote this article!)
I didn’t really know much about Margot Robbie before reading this Buzzfeed profile of her, but wow, her story is super interesting and I loved learning about how she’s taken charge of her career at such a young age.
This week’s depressing political piece from The Atlantic.
